Children's Programs
The Library offers fall, winter, and spring Storytime Sessions for children ages 3 to 5 years old, as well as a Summer Reading Program for children of all ages from toddlers to teens.

Adult and Teen Programs
Our adult and teen programs have included topics such as financial planning, personal health, computer training, antique appraisals, poetry readings, journal-making, creative stamping, knitting, yoga, home staging, living history and musical performances in a variety of musical styles. A book discussion club meets monthly at the Library.

Collections
The Library holdings include over 30,000 fiction and non-fiction books, including large print books, over 70 magazine subscriptions, audiobooks, VHS, DVDs, music CDs, and software. The New Jersey Room contains reference and circulating materials pertaining to Rockaway Borough, Morris County, and New Jersey. A Parenting Collection, located in the children's area, offers materials for parents, teachers, and caregivers. Our new ESL (English as a Second Language) collection includes books, DVDs and CDs, and is available for circulation.

Reference
The Library has general reference materials, such as Consumer Reports, College Guides, Physicians' Desk Reference, Artist's & Graphic Designer's Market, Writers' Handbook, street maps, atlases, and newspapers for in-library use. For extensive reference, we suggest you contact the
Morris County Free Public Library.
Q&A NJ allows you to chat with a librarian for information assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Computers
Our computers have an online catalog, internet access, and many web-based research and reference databases, such as Ebsco Magazines, Magill on Literature, and Facts on File. Please refer to the Library's Internet Policy regarding use. If you require additional assistance in computer use, the Morris County Public Library offers a series of public classes.

Holds
If an item in the Morris County system is holdable, you may place a hold through iBistro, the library's online catalog, or ask library staff to place a hold for you. When the material becomes available, we will contact you.

Networks and Organizations
Rockaway Borough Public Library is a member of
M.A.I.N., Inc. (Morris Automated Information Network, Inc.), a consortium of over 30 libraries in the Morris County area.  M.A.I.N., Inc. maintains our computer network and allows patrons to use their library cards at all member libraries. The Library also belongs to Highlands Regional Library Cooperative (HRLC), a division of the New Jersey State Library.  The Library is a member of the New Jersey Library Association and the American Library Association. Through these systems, we may be able to obtain materials available outside M.A.I.N., Inc.
